The East Hampton Village Board of Trustees has adopted a resolution that extends the expiration date of Building Permits that are due to expire in March or April, for another 60 days. If an applicant’s permit was to expire during this time, a renewal fee would be assessed and owed by the applicant. Currently, the Village is not conducing inside home inspections, which are required to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy (and thereby a closed building permit). While the inside inspections are temporarily suspended, the Board did not want applicants to have to pay a renewal fee during this time.
