The Village of East Hampton has a fully staffed, highly trained dispatching center which is supervised by the Chief of Police and employs 17 full-time Public Safety Dispatchers. The Village dispatch center is responsible for dispatching East Hampton Village Police Department, East Hampton Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corps., Amagansett Fire and Ambulance, Springs Fire and Ambulance, Montauk Fire and Ambulance and Sag Harbor Village Police Department, Fire and Ambulance as well. The Center is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For May 1, 2017 to August 31, 2017 the Center handled 9,900 police calls. The Village Dispatch Center, located at 1 Cedar Street, is in the process of obtaining New York State Accreditation which focuses on maintaining their high level of professionalism and continued up-to-date training.
